Not every therapist is trained in abusive relationships. Most of them address the issue from a “circular perspective”, i.e., to ascribe mutual and reciprocal responsibility to the abuse. This harmful distortion may lead many women to blame themselves for the treatment they receive.
As you will see in my free bonus, untrained therapists may even unwillingly aggravate the problem. I myself was trained in family and couples therapy but it was only when I specialized in gender abuse that I acquired the tools to work with control issues in relationships.
